A trained volunteer from HelsinkiMissio, a family friend in a pink shirt, can be asked to accompany your child or family member. We are here, so that no one is left alone in the hospital!

 ## You can ask us to:

- allow a pause for parents
- play
- monitor a patient’s sleep
- play games -
- accompany a parent
- spend time with a sibling
- provide safe arms for a child.

## Weekly schedule

On weekdays, we are in the hospital’s main lobby Monday-Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In addition, we are on the wards as follows:

- On Tuesdays, Ward Taika, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- On Wednesdays, Ward Avaruus, 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. and Ward Vuori, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- On Thursdays, Ward Vuori, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Ward Taika 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday lounge in the Play and Activity Unit, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You can reach us on weekdays by calling us at **09 2312 0240**. We have a switchboard service:

- **Dial 1** if you need immediate assistance from a volunteer. The call will be connected on weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Fridays until 1:00 p.m.) to a volunteer family friend on duty. After 4:00 p.m. you can leave us a request to call you back.
- **Dial 2** if you need help from a volunteer in the evening or later. The call will be saved as a call request and the volunteer coordinator will call you back.
