##  Arrival instructions 

Our main entrance is barrier-free, there are no steps on the access route, and the glass sliding doors open automatically. In the pedestrian area outside our entrance, there are benches where you can rest while you wait for a taxi, for instance.

There is a steep longitudinal slope on the access route to the ambulatory surgery entrance (10%). There is a handrail on one side of the access route. There are no steps at the entrance, and the glass swivel doors open automatically.

In the evening and at night, you must enter through the Ear Clinic entrance to visit the Eye Clinic.

Some of the elevators in our lobby are spacious and comply with current accessibility specifications. Our elevators have automatic sliding doors.

The customer staircase is adjacent to the elevator lobby. The stairs have contrast strips along the leading edges of the treads. There is a handrail along one side of the staircase.

##  Parking in the hospital area 

The nearest parking lot is in front of the entrance to the Haartman Hospital. There are two barrier-free parking spaces in the parking lot. Dropoff traffic is allowed to stop in the vicinity of the main entrance and the ambulatory surgery entrance of the Eye and Ear Hospital.

A fee is charged for outdoor parking in the Meilahti hospital area.

Two means of payment are available for outdoor parking:

- Pay at a ticket machine before parking. Please note that most of the ticket machines only accept coins.
- Pay by mobile device. You may use the EasyPark or ParkMan apps. For further information, please contact the service providers.

###   Parking garages in the Meilahti hospital area

Meilahti Hospital patients and visitors can use the underground parking garages P1, P2 and P3. Our parking garages are open to customers Monday to Sunday 06:00–22:00.

When paying with a mobile app (EasyPark or Parkman), start the parking in the app when you enter the garage. You can also pay for the parking with a bank card at a ticket machine.

- **P1 (Haartmaninkatu 4):** Access to other buildings in the hospital area is via the outdoor area. The pedestrian exit is via the elevators in Biomedicum 1 (Haartmaninkatu 8). There is a ticket machine in the elevator lobby at the entrance level in Biomedicum.
- **P2 (Stenbäckinkatu 9):** There is a tunnel connecting this parking garage to other buildings in the hospital area. Ticket machines can be found along the pedestrian routes exiting the parking garage.
- **P3 (Zaidankatu 1):** There is a tunnel connecting this parking garage to other buildings in the hospital area. Ticket machines can be found along the pedestrian routes exiting the parking garage.

 



 



###   Accessible parking

Parking for disabled people is located outside near the hospitals’ main entrances, and near the pedestrian routes in the parking garages P1, P2 and P3. These parking spaces are free of charge.

The disabled parking permit must be placed inside the car’s windshield so that it is fully visible from the outside. With the disabled parking permit, you can also park in the paid parking spaces.
