The unit performs the initiation and monitoring of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy (such as CPAP, APAP, NIV), measurements of alertness, sleep polygraphies, and annual check-up appointments of risk groups. A particularly challenging risk group consists of patients who need special attention due to their profession, such as professional drivers. A new humidifier is provided every two years.
