Our unit has two procedure rooms. **The most common procedures we perform include:** - coronary artery angiography - coronary balloon angioplasty - cardiac pacemaker implantation Cardioversions are performed in our unit’s observation room. If required, an echocardiography can be performed in the unit's observation room on patients arriving for procedures. Our patients arrive for examinations or procedures directly from home, or from wards in HUS hospitals. Our unit works in close collaboration with Jorvi [Cardiology Ward S7](https://www.hus.fi/en/patient/hospitals-and-other-units/jorvi-hospital/cardiology-ward-s7-jorvi-hospital), among others. We perform both planned and urgent procedures. Jorvi Cardiac Unit is open during office hours. Emergency services around the clock are available in the [Meilahti Cardiac Unit](https://www.hus.fi/en/patient/hospitals-and-other-units/meilahti-tower-hospital/cardiac-unit-meilahti-tower-hospital). We kindly ask that patients arrive to the cardiac unit with an escort only if it is necessary. **Patients’ escorts cannot stay in our unit before or during the procedure.** We train future health care professionals in our unit. We hope that you will allow students to participate in your care.
