In the Espoo Unit of the Assistive Equipment Center, we lend primary health care assistive equipment to the clients of Espoo.

We lend the most common assistive equipment, such as crutches, walkers, basic wheelchairs, shower chairs, raised toilet seats, reachers, and sock pullers based on the staff's assessment. You do not need a booked appointment or a referral. You may also borrow these on behalf of your loved one.

We do not lend out orthoses, such as back, ankle, knee, or wrist braces, for acute situations.

## Maintenance or repair of assistive equipment

---

If your assistive device requires maintenance or repair, you can book an appointment by selecting option 1 “huoltoasiat” (maintenance) when calling customer service. The answering machine is in Finnish. If your maintenance needs are safety-related and therefore urgent (for example, faults in lifting equipment or platform and stair lifts and door mechanisms provided as services for the disabled, repairing the brakes of assistive devices or changing tires), you can call us at 040 183 9620 (mon, tue, thu, fri 8–15, wed 10–15).

## Payment commitments

---

If you need a payment commitment for the personal assistive equipment, such as compression stockings, breast prostheses, wigs, individual articulated supports, or support insoles, select option 2 “maksusitoumusasiat” (payment commitments) when calling customer service.
