Our unit is the only pediatric intensive care unit in the HUS area. In addition, our unit is responsible for providing the intensive care required for pediatric cardiac surgery and organ transplantation which are centralized in Finland to New Children's Hospital. The presence of a familiar adult allows the child to feel safe during the hospital stay. There are free visiting hours in the pediatric intensive care unit. Please do not come to the hospital if you have a contagious disease (such as an intestinal infection or a respiratory infection).
