On Women’s Hospital’s Ward 52, we treat women who have given birth and their newborns. We provide individual guidance on caring for the baby, breastfeeding, and on recovering from childbirth. We also provide treatment in cases where the pregnancy requires special monitoring.

On Ward 52, you can recover from childbirth and take some time to get to know your new family member. We will plan your treatment individually. We provide postnatal guidance in caring for a baby and breastfeeding, encouraging self-sufficiency. We are committed to the Baby-Friendly Initiative of WHO and UNICEF.

Our skilled, multi-professional staff is here for you. We closely monitor the infant’s health and the mother’s recovery. Our aim is to provide families with centralized care appointments three times a day. Before your appointment, you can think about the things you feel you need extra support for. We also have the Baby Journey digital care pathway in use. It provides answers to frequently asked questions.

Most of the rooms on our ward are family rooms. We strive to provide a family room for all who request for one. In our family rooms, you can bring your spouse or other support person to stay with you for the duration of your hospital stay. In a family room, both the person who has given birth and the support person will be invoiced for the daily hospital fee for the treatment days.

At Postnatal Appointments, we provide care and guidance to families of newborns after discharge from the hospital. If your baby needs a follow-up visit within the first two weeks, we will schedule an appointment either at Postnatal Appointments or with a midwife who makes house calls.

On Ward 52, we also treat and monitor patients who have problems during pregnancy, such as high blood pressure, bleeding, or a threat of premature delivery. Monitoring of fetal condition may also require treatment on the ward. If you need long-term monitoring, we can arrange an overnight stay at the Family Nest hotel and follow-up on Ward 52.
