Our goal is to ensure safe childbirth and a good experience of childbirth for the whole family. We offer you high-quality, individual, and family-centered care. You can give birth at our unit after reaching 35 weeks of pregnancy. We also manage inductions of labor. We are committed to the Baby-Friendly Initiative of WHO and UNICEF.

In our labor unit, there are five delivery rooms, each with their own toilet and shower. At our labor unit, you can choose from both medicinal and non-medicinal pain relief methods. We also have birthing pools in our unit.

In the Hyvinkää Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Emergency Clinic, we examine and treat pregnancy-related complications and other problems when the pregnancy has lasted at least 22 weeks. In addition, we provide emergency treatment for complications associated with childbirth for four weeks after giving birth.

## Postpartum care at Hyvinkää Hospital

After childbirth, your care will continue on our Gynecology and Obstetrics ward. It is also possible to be discharged directly from the labor unit. Newborns in need of special monitoring are treated on the Pediatric Ward in Hyvinkää Hospital. We use the Couplet Care model, where the family is allowed on the Pediatric Ward to care for their newborn.

## Hyvinkää Hospital prenatal classes and video tours

Welcome to the prenatal classes! During the classes, you will learn about the labor unit at Hyvinkää Hospital, the different stages of childbirth, pain relief methods, and about the first moments with a newborn. The classes are organized by the midwives at Hyvinkää Hospital. The classes are intended for both the person giving birth as well as their support person. The classes are held online via Teams.
